AMA Triangle is always excited for our members to increase their involvement in AMA by volunteering for our chapter. We have volunteer roles that span all aspects of the chapter, with multiple levels of involvement (one-off, a few hours a month, 1-2 hours a week, etc.). It’s the¬†members¬†of AMA Triangle have helped the chapter become the premier marketing association in the Triangle and Gold Chapter of the Year out of 75 chapters! Join the Membership Committee to recruit new AMA members and the chapter leaders of the future.

If you enjoy community engagement, content marketing and recruitment, this volunteer role is for you! The YP Meetup Manager supports the VP of Membership while coordinating between Communications, Programming, and other teams.

The focus of this role is to manage our AMA Triangle YP Quarterly Meetup. 

Reports to: VP of Membership

Duties include:

  1. Positively impact member retention amongst YP members via segment-specific program that caters specifically to the interests of YP’s, both educational and social.
  2. Working with VP of Membership, prepare an annual budget for YP Meetup events (quarterly).
  3. Schedule and coordinate planning of quarterly YP Meetups-either virtual or in-person based on feedback from active YP members. Post dates to chapter events calendar
  4. Recruit new YP members to attend events and Slack YP channel
  5. Manage YP Slack channel, including inviting new YP’s, monitoring activity to align with platform guidelines and by encouraging  channel engagement
  6. Curate and share content relevant to the chapter’s YP’s via Slack YP channel.

Time commitment: 2-4 hours per month 

Description: The AVP of Membership, reporting to the VP of Membership is responsible for overseeing membership acquisition activities including the bi-annual membership awareness drives. The AVP of Membership will work with the Director of Acquisition to help set acquisition strategy and activities to drive the chapter recruitment goals. 

Reports to: VP of Membership

Responsibilities 

  • Assist the VP in setting the goals and promotional efforts for monthly member recruitment and bi-annual awareness drives
    • Develop marketing plan and direct marketing campaigns¬†
    • Create a promotional brief and submit it by the required due date to the Communications team
    • Communicate with Comms team to ensure execution of the promotional plan
    • Analyze results of monthly acquisition activity, as well as the bi-annual awareness drives
  • Oversee the activities of the Director of Acquisition to develop recruitment strategies for the year to drive member acquisition.
  • Assist with moderating/managing the Linkedin Group Membership Page

Projects may include:

  • Managing chapter prospect list, sharing with VP and other Board members as appropriate.
  • Working with the Communications team to develop recruiting materials.
  • Encourage and facilitate new member recruitment by board members and volunteers
  • Recruit companies for the AMA group membership.
  • Work with Director: follow up on leads, maintain a list of prospects and touchpoints via Neon, or other CRM systems.

Commitment

  • 3-5 hours per week.
  • Attend, and lead when appropriate, monthly team meetings.
  • Attend quarterly Meet & Greet orientation events and other team programs.
  • Collaborate with other chapter teams as needed; ie Comms/Programs/Analytics/Strategy.¬†

Requirements

  • Active AMA Triangle member
  • Minimum of two years overall marketing experience with a focus on recruitment, program management, direct marketing, or business development, required.
  • Minimum of two years leadership experience and one-year chapter volunteer experience preferred.
  • Experience with communications technology including email platforms, website CMS and social media, preferred
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally ‚Äď coordinating initiatives across the AMA Board and chapter.

Description: The Content Promotion Editor, AMA Voices assists the project director by facilitating the promotion of AMA Voices content and recruiting content creators for the blog.

Reports to: VP/AVP of Communications

Core Responsibilities :

  • Work closely with the AMA Voices project director to recruit content creators and support the publication of original content for AMA Voices.
  • Coordinate with their assigned team to identify opportunities to support that team‚Äôs efforts to incorporate DEI principles.
  • Solicit AMA Triangle members and community partners to partake in the creation and publication of original content for AMA Voices.
  • Cultivate new writers and thought leaders to submit posts for the blog.
  • Manage an editorial calendar taking into account celebratory holidays and months.
  • Periodically review progress of other AMAT functions and make recommendations on opportunities to strengthen the quality of content for AMA Voices.
  • In collaboration with other AMAT committees, recommend policy and practice development within the chapter as part of a strategic planning process.
  • In alignment of the Director of AMA Voices, support recruitment strategy with (but not exclusive to) LGBTQIA, BIPOC, people with disabilities, and other underrepresented groups.
  • Act as an inclusive thought leader and brand advocate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Communications is the hub of the AMA Triangle chapter Рnearly everything the chapter does goes through communications. It is vital that the Communications Team provides consistency, accountability and cohesiveness for our chapter to maintain its top national ranking! 

Description: The AMA Triangle YouTube Moderator is responsible for managing the AMA Triangle YouTube page, uploading video content, and overseeing engagement. They will also review, manage and process user-submitted content for the AMA Voices community forum page.

Reports to: VP/AVP of Communications

Core Responsibilities Include:

  1. Upload new video content to the AMA Triangle YouTube account and ensure the title and description fields are complete and accurate. Ensure there are captions with videos, as appropriate.
  2. Moderate comments and engagement as appropriate.
  3. Review, manage and process user-submitted content for the AMA Voices community forum page, uploading content to YouTube using the established processes.
  4. Work closely with the AMA Voices Content Moderator to ensure all content is uploaded and published in the proper format and adheres to all guidelines set forth by the AMA Voices team.

Commitment:

  • July 2020 – June 2021
  • <10 hours a month

Communications is the hub of the AMA Triangle chapter – nearly everything the chapter goes through communications. It is vital that the Communications Team provides consistency, accountability, and cohesiveness for our #1 AMA Chapter in the nation!

The PPC Manager will lead the charge on all paid search campaigns, managing campaign set up, optimizations, and reporting. This role will ensure campaigns meet Google compliance requirements and spending constraints.

This position will report to the VP of Communications for the AMA Triangle and will receive appropriate guidance.

Reports to: VP/AVP of Communications

Duties include:

  1. Create and launch new campaigns in alignment with AMA Triangle goals
  2. Maintain the AMA Triangle’s Google Ads account and campaigns
  3. Generate ideas for new campaigns, write ad copy, and test
  4. Optimize existing campaigns and ad groups
  5. Conduct keyword research 
  6. Analyze keyword search volumes to identify new opportunities
  7. Optimize ads for CTR and conversion
  8. Use analytics to ensure campaigns are targeting the optimum demographics
  9. Create reports on campaign success and report progress, success/learnings to AVP of Communications
  10. Help develop strategies to drive online traffic to the organization website
  11. Partner with Director of Analytics to ensure goals are defined and accurately tracking/measuring through Google Analytics

Desired Skills:

  1. Experience managing PPC campaigns
  2. Google Ads certification
  3. Google Analytics certification
  4. Up to date knowledge of Google Analytics and various digital marketing software.
  5. Knowledge of Google Ad Grants compliance guidelines

Time commitment: 8 hours per month

Communications is the hub of the AMA Triangle chapter Рnearly everything the chapter does goes through and is handled by the Comms Team, including promoting events, distilling information and growing the AMA Triangle community. 

The focus of the Facebook Content Manager is to manage the regular posting and general promotion of the AMA Triangle Facebook account.

Reports to: Director of Social; VP/AVP of Communications

Duties include:

  1. Review, write and schedule Facebook posts assigned to you 1-2x/week for AMA Triangle events, programming and campaigns
  2. Contribute to Social Team discussions for larger campaign work
  3. Work with Instagram Engagement Manager to increase reach on platform
  4. Attend monthly strategy and team-building meetings 

Opportunities include:

  1. Ability to increase understanding of Facebook platform and backend scheduling system
  2. Options to pitch new content and test audience engagement
  3. Getting the most out of your AMA membership through volunteering

Time commitment: 4-7 hours per month

The focus of the Instagram Content Manager is to manage the regular posting and general promotion of the AMA Triangle Instagram account.

Reports to: Director of Social; VP/AVP of Communications

Duties include:

  1. Review, write and schedule Instagram posts assigned to you 1-2x/week for AMA Triangle events, programming and campaigns
  2. Update linktree on a consistent basis
  3. Contribute to Social Team discussions for larger campaign work
  4. Work with Instagram Engagement Manager to increase reach on platform
  5. Attend monthly strategy and team-building meetings

Description: The Collegiate Relations Project Coordinator supports events, programming, and outreach activities for AMA collegiate chapters. 

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the Director of Collegiate Relations to plan and support events, programs, and outreach to AMA collegiate chapters
  • Assist as needed with day-of activities for Marketing Jam including welcoming guests, set-up and teardown, problem solving, and communication with vendor/venue staff
  • Assist with developing communications for Collegiate Relations activities and programs
  • Attend bi-weekly Collegiate Relations team meetings¬†
  • Administrative duties as assigned

Description: Purpose: The CONNECT & INSPIRE Event Coordinator supports the development of programming for current and future program participants. This role will assist with creating, planning and executing bi-monthly activities such as the program kick-off, trainings and social events. Note: The 2020-21 CONNECT & INSPIRE Program will be virtual. As such responsibilities below will be customized for a virtual format. 

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Manage event calendar and coordinates scheduling with partners and venues
  • Collaborate with AMA Triangle program managers to co-develop existing events for program participants
  • Work with the Director of CONNECT & INSPIRE and the VP of Programming to oversee budget management, material purchases, and venue partnerships
  • Maintain event organization details such as venue, food, guest list, entertainment, etc.
  • Assist with supervising events day-of to include welcoming guests, set-up and teardown, problem solving, and communication with vendor/venue staff
  • Attend bi-weekly CONNECT & INSPIRE team meetings¬†
  • Administrative duties as assigned

Description: AMAimpact focuses on three pillars: donating money, donating time, and donating marketing skills. The AMAimpact Program Coordinator (Marketing Skills) coordinates the marketing skills volunteer placement program for AMA Triangle.  

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the Director of AMAimpact to develop the marketing skills volunteer placement program for AMA Triangle
  • Assist with developing communications materials and campaigns to promote the marketing skills program to AMA Triangle members and to local marketing professionals to get them to donate their marketing expertise to local nonprofit organizations
  • Assist with volunteer events day-of as needed to include problem solving and communication with organization staff
  • Attend bi-weekly AMAImpact team meetings¬†
  • Administrative duties as assigned

The AMAimpact Project Coordinator (Volunteering) coordinates volunteer service projects for AMA Triangle members including planning service projects for National Volunteer Week in 2021.  

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the Director of AMAimpact to plan volunteer service projects for National Volunteer Week in April 2021¬†
  • Assist with developing communications materials and campaigns to promote volunteer service projects to AMA Triangle members to get them to donate their time to local nonprofit organizations
  • Assist with volunteer events day-of as needed to include problem solving and communication with organization staff
  • Attend bi-weekly AMAimpact team meetings¬†
  • Administrative duties as assigned

  • Assist with developing communications materials and campaigns for AMA Triangle‚Äôs AMAzon Smile program and other opportunities to raise funds that support the work of AMA Triangle
  • Assist with volunteer events day-of as needed to include problem solving and communication with organization staff
  • Attend bi-weekly AMAimpact team meetings¬†

Description:

The Liaison Officer, DEI works most closely with the AVP, DEI. The Liaison Officer assists the DEI team by facilitating alignment and support across all AMAT functions. Each officer will be assigned at least one internal team (e.g. Programming, Membership, Communications, etc.) with which to liaise. 

Core Responsibilities :

  • Work closely with the AVP and DEI team to gain alignment of other AMAT in support of the chapter‚Äôs DEI goals.
  • Coordinate with their assigned team to identify opportunities to support that team‚Äôs efforts to incorporate DEI principles.
  • Periodically review progress of other AMAT functions towards the chapter‚Äôs DEI goals and make recommendations on opportunities to strengthen those efforts.
  • In collaboration with other AMAT committees, recommend policy and practice development within the chapter as part of a strategic planning process.
