NETWORKING
Join a dedicated, safe space for our BIPOC community to seek fellowship, camaraderie and some much-needed conversation.
The last nine months of 2020 have completely turned our worlds upside down. Between a global pandemic, economic downturn, the fight for social justice, quarantine, record unemployment and the resulting mental health crisis, it’s more than anyone should have to bear, but it’s been particularly challenging for our BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) communities.
After hundreds of years of systemic racism, inequity, inequality and injustice, there’s a huge gap of disparity in the way the BIPOC communities in our country (and in our industry as a whole) are represented and treated.
AMA Triangle believes that marketing is for everyone, and we’re doing everything in our power* to be the change we want to see. Our mission this year is to create a more diverse, equitable and inclusive future, by making sure that AMA Triangle focuses on the person, not just the marketer. This mission is called: “The Whole Marketer Promise”, and part of that promise is the creation of safe spaces for our communities to discuss the things that really matter to them.
As a result, we’ve created a dedicated safe space for our BIPOC communities to seek fellowship, camaraderie, and some much needed conversation. So join us for an hour with AMA Triangle President Misty Wilson and Director of Collegiate Affairs Nicole Filippo.
*AMA Triangle began its DEI journey in March by creating its very first Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) team for the 2020-21 chapter year. It furthered its mission in May by co-founding and authoring a national AMA DEI Chapter Pledge to be adopted by AMA chapters across the nation.
