June Luncheon: Don’t Just Sit There!: The Experience Economy’s Radical Re-Shaping of Event Marketing
Even in this hyper digital age, live events remain an irreplaceable way to bring brand concepts to life and to establish meaningful connections with key audiences.
The Triangle is home to an annual event that’s turning heads nationally: The massive International Bluegrass Music Association festival. Using the recent O’Dwyer’s Magazine column on the festival as a jumping off point, this provocative panel discussion will dig into destination branding, sponsor engagement, event philosophies, and the marketing ‘musts’ of the prevailing ‘participation economy.’
Making a brief presentation and then peppering an expert panel with questions will be Billy Warden, co-founder of Triangle marketing firm GBW Strategies, who authored the O’Dwyer’s piece and formerly worked with the E! Entertainment Networks team that covered such iconic events as the Oscars. Slated for the panel are representatives of the Greater Raleigh Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Raleigh Convention Center, Pinecone: The Piedmont Council of Traditional Music, and one of the bluegrass festival’s sponsorship leads.
With a half century of events experience between them, the panel will speak to all kinds of events and brand-driven happenings — from 20 to 200 to the 200,000 who attend the bluegrass festival.
